The Canadian Chapter of the ISA at Art Toronto

For the first time, the Canadian Chapter of the ISA proudly made its presence known at Art Toronto, Canada’s premier art fair, which took place from October 26th to 29th, 2023. This event marked a significant milestone for our organization, allowing us to step directly into the limelight of Canada’s vibrant art scene. Our participation was not just about being seen; it was about connecting, educating, and sharing the integral role of professional appraisers in the art world.

In a collaborative spirit, we shared our booth with the esteemed Canadian Association of Professional Conservators (CAPC). This partnership underscored our mutual commitment to the preservation, appreciation, and valuation of art, bridging our complementary skills and knowledge to the benefit of art collectors, enthusiasts, and professionals alike.

Art Toronto served as an incredible platform for us to engage directly with the public and articulate the value of working with professional appraisers. Our presence at Art Toronto was met with enthusiasm and curiosity, sparking interest in the professional standards and expertise that ISA and CAPC members bring to the art world. The fair was an excellent opportunity for networking, learning, and promoting the significance of our professions in maintaining the integrity and vitality of art collecting. We had the pleasure of answering questions, providing insights, and discussing the nuances of art appraisal and conservation.

As we reflect on the success of our participation, we are filled with gratitude for the warm reception and engaging discussions we had throughout the event. It was a genuine pleasure to connect with so many passionate individuals and share our knowledge and services.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our member volunteers who donated their time and everyone who visited our booth, the organizers of Art Toronto, and our colleagues at the Canadian Association of Professional Conservators. Your interest, support, and collaboration made this experience not just possible but a resounding success.

Until we meet again, we encourage art collectors, enthusiasts, and professionals to reach out to ISA members and CAPC members for guidance and services that uphold the highest standards of professionalism and expertise in the art world.
