Julie Riches is an accredited generalist appraiser and Principal of Riches Appraisals & Consult. Julie has worked within the decorative arts and fine art sector for over 14 years and offers a variety of services including appraisals, estate management and object identification. Services are provided throughout Canada and the United States.

 

Her comprehensive understanding of the ever-changing market has proven essential when managing estates and private collections alike. Julie provides appraisal services for a wide variety of objects including general household contents, mid century modern design, antiques and luxury items.

 

Areas of expertise include Fine Craft, Ceramics, Silver and Metalware, Art Glass, Furniture, Textiles & Rugs, Clocks, Musical Instruments, Scientific Instruments, Bronzes & Sculpture, Carvings, Works on Paper, Watches, Estate Jewellery, Militaria, Gold & Silver Coins, Banknotes, Stamps and estate Automobiles.

 

Julie holds a specialty designation upon completion of the Antiques, Furnishings & Decorative Arts program through the International Society of Appraisers (ISA). She serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Society of Decorative Arts and serves as Chair of the Antiques, Furnishings and Decorative Arts Committee for ISA. Julie received ISA’s Rising Leader Award in 2021 and was awarded a scholarship from the Foundation for Appraisal Education in 2019.
