President, James Finlay Fine Art Appraisals

James (Jim) Finlay, holds bachelors degrees in Art and Art History, Fine Art (studio), Art Education, a graduate Diploma in Art History and a master’s degree in Comparative Media Arts. He is an accredited member of the International Society of Appraisers (Fine Art Specialist) and a non-practicing member the B.C. College of Teachers.

He has many years experience in the business of fine art appraisal and fine art wealth management. He has performed estate appraisals for the IRS (Internal Revenue Service), for the United States government, as well as donation appraisals for CCPERB (Canadian Cultural Export Property Review Board) for the Canadian government. He has also provided appraisals of fine art for insurance purposes and FMV for international corporations, museums, not for profit organizations, public galleries, insurance companies and private individuals. He is an avid reader and writes art related articles for his website as well as providing art authentication services.
